10 Front Door Flower Pots That Will Draw All of the Attention This Fall
Containers with beautiful flowers are a nice decoration for every front door. On the other hand, they are so helpful if your yard is paved and is missing greenery. And they will certainly wish a warm welcome to anyone that enters your home. Where to start from? We have the best tips for you.
Proper drainage
If you want your plants to survive in a container, drainage is so important. A good drainage will prevent your plants from rotting and dying. Sometimes container design is pretty and stylish, but it lacks having holes for the excess water. This can lead to having too moist soil, which is not good for the plants. If your container does not have holes for drainage, you can make them yourself by drilling a hole. If the container does not allow this, then you can place rocks on the bottom of it before filling up with soil. The water will drain down.
Sunlight
Before you start to plant anything, consider the amount of sunlight that the spot has. Your front door can be exposed on direct sunlight, just a few hours a day, or even a complete shadow. Consider this before you choose the plants.
Add fertilizer
The soil in a container will run out of nutrients, as it has no way to replenish them. That’s why you should add fertilizers once in a while if you want to keep beautiful and healthy blooms.
