Area rug

Let’s start from the base. Area rugs are a nice way to add coziness and warmth in a room. On the other hand, these ones help you anchor a certain space. This means that you should pick the right size for your living room. Many make mistakes and choose too small area rugs, and the end result will not be as expected. When you are choosing the proper rug, make sure that it covers the room leaving 12″-18″ clear around the walls. For smaller rooms, even 7″-12″ will be enough.

Pathway

A perfectly designed room should have enough space so you can move around the furniture, without having to bump into things. The proper alignment of the furniture should allow proper traffic flow in the living room. You should arrange the furniture in a way that it leaves 26”-36” for a pathway. This is a must, as you want your living room to be functional and airy.
